Privacy & Data
Privacy Policy
How Puzzle Solved handles your data, cookies, analytics, and comment information. Last updated: August 2026.
Cookies and Consent
Puzzle Solved uses a single consent cookie named zw_consent. This cookie stores your cookie preferences as a JSON object and expires after 365 days. It is set only after you interact with the consent banner and does not track browsing behaviour.
The site also sets a PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) for CSRF protection on the comment form. This session cookie expires when you close your browser and contains no personal data.
If you choose Necessary Only or decline analytics in the consent panel, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking scripts load. The consent banner will not reappear until your consent cookie expires or you clear it.
A localStorage key (ps-theme) stores your dark or light mode preference. This is not a cookie and is not transmitted to the server.
Analytics
When analytics tracking is enabled by the consent banner, this site uses Matomo Analytics, a self-hosted analytics platform. Matomo data is stored on the same server as this site and is not sent to third-party services. No data is shared with advertising networks.
Matomo collects: pages visited, referrer URL, approximate geographic region (derived from anonymised IP address), browser type, and device type. Full IP addresses are anonymised before storage. No cross-site tracking is performed.
Analytics tracking is off by default. It activates only when you click Accept All or enable analytics in the consent panel. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your zw_consent cookie or revisiting the consent panel from the banner.
While the Matomo tracking ID is set to 0 (disabled) during the soft-launch period, the consent banner still ships and gates correctly. No analytics data is collected during the soft-launch period.
Comment Data
If you leave a comment on Puzzle Solved, we store your name (as entered), your email address (optional, never displayed publicly), the comment body, the timestamp, and the page key identifying which page you commented on. Comments are held for moderation before appearing publicly.
Email addresses are stored only to enable reply notifications if you opt in. They are never shown on the site, never sold, and never shared with third parties. If you wish to have your comment or associated email removed, contact us at contact@puzzlesolved.info.
Comment data is stored in a MySQL database on the same server as this site. The database is not accessible from the public internet. Backup copies may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion.
Third-Party Services
This site loads Google Fonts (Archivo, Karla, DM Mono) from fonts.googleapis.com. This sends your browser's IP address to Google's servers as part of the font file request. If you prefer to avoid this, you can use a browser extension that blocks Google Fonts requests; the site falls back to system fonts and remains fully functional.
No other third-party services load on this site without your consent. No advertising networks, social media widgets, or tracking pixels are embedded.
This site links to satellite sites (the game answer archives) that are operated on the same server. Those sites have their own privacy configurations. Links to external game store pages or game developer sites open in a new tab and are governed by the destination site's privacy policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you on this site. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@puzzlesolved.info. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing your zw_consent cookie. No account or registration is required to use this site, so there is no account to delete.
This site is operated from the European Economic Area. If you are located in the EEA, the GDPR applies to any personal data we process. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
DMCA and Copyright
Puzzle Solved stores puzzle answers as structured data (level number mapped to answer string). It does not reproduce full game levels, sound files, graphics, or other copyrighted assets beyond the minimum needed to present an answer in context.
Game names and trademarks used on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. This site is not affiliated with any game developer referenced on it.
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to contact@puzzlesolved.info. Include: your identification, a description of the copyrighted work, the specific URL of the allegedly infringing content, and a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised. We respond to all valid DMCA notices within 48 hours.
