Three Habits That Find More Blossom Words
Work outwards from the centre
Every answer contains the centre letter, so pair it with each petal in turn rather than scanning the flower at random. It turns seven letters into six small searches.
Remember letters repeat
Petals are not consumed, which players forget constantly. That is how a seven-letter flower yields words of ten and twelve letters — the biggest board here ran to 1,621 answers.
Chase the pangram first
It scores most and it usually drags shorter words out with it. This archive averages 11.9 a day, so there is nearly always one to find.
How to Play Blossom
Centre letter, four letters minimum, reuse freely.
Use the centre letter every time
A word without it does not count, however good it looks. It is the gold tile on every board page.
Four letters minimum
Three-letter words are rejected, so the quick fillers from other word games are unavailable here.
Reuse petals freely
Letters are not consumed, which is what makes long words possible — see any board in the archive.
Verified Answers, Not Guesses
How we verify every dated board we hold, with its centre letter, petals, full word list and pangrams
Each board comes from the published solution for its date. The centre letter is derived from the answers themselves — it is the one letter every word shares — so a change to how a source draws its flower cannot hand us the wrong one, and a board whose centre cannot be derived is skipped rather than guessed. The routine is in our methodology and the standards in our editorial policy.
