How Puzzle Page Killer Sudoku Works

Sudoku with cages. Each dashed cage sums to a printed total, and digits never repeat inside a cage.

Tips for Puzzle Page Killer Sudoku

  1. 1

Learn the fixed combinations: a two-cell cage summing to 3 is always 1+2; 17 is always 8+9.

  2. 2

Use the rule that each row, column and box sums to 45 — a cage crossing a boundary reveals the leftover.

  3. 3

Small cages with extreme totals are the best starting points.

  4. 4

Cage totals constrain candidates before normal Sudoku logic even begins, so work them first.

  5. 5

Learn the fixed cages: a two-cell cage summing to 3 is 1+2, to 17 is 8+9, and a three-cell cage summing to 6 is 1+2+3. These need no working out.

  6. 6

Every row, column and box totals 45. If a cage overhangs a box by one cell, that cell equals the cage total minus 45 — a free placement.

Puzzle Page Killer Sudoku Questions

Do digits repeat inside a cage?
No, digits are unique within a cage as well as within rows, columns and boxes.
Is Killer harder than standard Sudoku?
It uses more constraints, but those constraints also give you more to work with.
How many Killer Sudoku answers are in this archive?
1,882 solved Killer Sudoku puzzles across 800 dates, each stored as the completed number grid exactly as the app shows it once the puzzle is finished.
What are the dashed outlines?
They are cages. The digits inside a cage must add to the small number printed in its corner, and no digit repeats within a cage.
Why does Killer Sudoku start with no numbers?
The cage totals carry the information that given digits would in a normal Sudoku. Standard Sudoku rules still apply on top.
Can a digit repeat inside a cage?
No. Within one cage every digit is different, which is what makes the small cages so restrictive.

3 Tips for Puzzle Page

01

The board is the whole puzzle

Every answer is built from what the level actually shows you and nothing else. Counting that first rules out most of what comes to mind, which is quicker than trying words and being rejected.

02

Place the longest answer first

Long answers use up the awkward letters and leave a set that spells the short ones out for you. Starting long is consistently faster than sweeping for three-letter words.

03

Neighbouring levels are the best hint

Difficulty climbs gradually rather than in jumps, so the levels either side of a hard one reuse its patterns. They are more useful than any hint the game sells you.

How to play

How to Solve a Puzzle Page Level

The order that clears a board fastest.

STEP 01

Read what you are given

Letters, tiles or clues — count them before you start. That constraint is the strongest filter you have.

STEP 02

Anchor with the answers you are sure of

Each confirmed answer narrows the ones it touches, so the easy entries are worth the first minute.

STEP 03

Work outwards

Follow the chain from what you have placed rather than jumping around the board.

How we check

Verified Answers, Not Guesses

How we verify these answers

Every answer on this page is read from the game's own puzzle data rather than retyped from another site, and is checked against what the board actually provides — so nothing listed can use a letter the level does not give you. The counts shown are computed from the stored data, not typed in by hand.
