About the daily challenge

What the Daily Challenge Actually Is

Connect Word runs two different puzzles under one roof. The numbered levels are a fixed ladder of 4,600 boards you work through at your own pace. The Daily Challenge is a separate board that appears each morning, runs 3 stages on average, and is gone the next day. Miss it and the game gives you no way back — which is the whole reason this archive exists.

The two modes do not play the same. Every numbered level puts exactly five words behind each category, so a theme showing five is finished. The daily does not honour that rule: across the 607 boards here the categories run from 30 to 39 per board and the word counts behind them vary too. Players who bring the five-word habit over from the levels routinely stop digging one word early. Count the empty slots the game shows you instead.

Stages gate each other, so a daily is solved top down: clear stage one and stage two opens. Every board below is laid out in that same order, stage by stage and category by category, with the words listed under each theme. Pick a date from the archive, or jump straight to the newest board. The seasonal event packs are a third mode again, and they are indexed separately.

FAQ

Daily Challenge — Questions

Where can I find old Connect Word Daily Challenge answers?
Right here. The daily board is removed from the game once the day ends, so this archive is the only way back to it. It holds 607 dated boards running from January 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
How is the daily challenge different from the numbered levels?
Two things. A daily runs several stages in sequence — 3 on average — where a numbered level is a single board. And the daily categories vary in size, while every numbered level puts exactly five words behind each category. Daily boards average 34 categories, ranging from 30 to 39.
How many words are in a Connect Word daily?
Across the 607 boards archived here there are 87,401 answers in 20,481 categories, so a typical board carries about 144 words.
Is today's Connect Word daily on this site?
The newest board archived is September 30, 2026. New boards are captured daily, so if today is missing it will appear shortly after the puzzle goes live.
Pro tips

3 Tips for the Connect Word Daily

01

Do not bring the five-word rule over from the levels

This is the mistake that costs daily players the most time. Every one of the 4,600 numbered levels puts exactly five words behind each category, so five means finished. The daily boards do not work that way — category sizes vary within a single board. Read the empty slots the game draws, not the habit.

02

Solve stage by stage, never ahead

A daily averages 3 stages and each one is locked until the previous clears, so scanning ahead earns nothing. Every board on this site is laid out in the game's own stage order for exactly that reason — open the date, solve stage one, and only then read on.

03

Missed a day? It is gone from the app, not from here

Connect Word removes the daily board once the date passes and offers no in-game archive, which is why this index runs to 607 boards and 87,401 answers. Start at the newest board, or pick any month above. The seasonal event packs are archived the same way.

How we check

Verified Answers, Not Guesses

How we verify the daily challenge archive

Each board is captured on its own date and stored stage by stage exactly as the game presents it — stage order, category names and word order are all preserved rather than retyped. A board publishes only when every stage parses cleanly; a partial capture is discarded instead of being filled in by hand, which is why the archive has gaps rather than guesses.

How to play

How to Solve a Connect Word Board

Three habits that clear any Connect Word board, whichever mode you are in.

STEP 01

Read every category name first

The category names are the only clue the game gives you, and reading all of them before you touch a tile rules out most of the dictionary. A narrow theme pins its answers far harder than a broad one, which makes it the cheapest place to start.

STEP 02

Count the slots, do not count to five

Every category in the numbered levels holds exactly five words, so five means finished. The daily and event boards do not follow that rule — their categories hold four or five. Read the empty slots the board draws or you will abandon a theme one answer early.

STEP 03

Expect phrases, not just words

Roughly one Connect Word answer in six is two words rather than one. When a category sits one short, the gap is usually a phrase you have been reading as a single word.
