About this board

September 17, 2026 — Complete Answer Guide

This page lists every answer for the Connect Word Daily Challenge of September 17, 2026, a thursday board of 3 stages holding 124 words in 31 themed categories. That is below the daily average of 34 categories per board. The categories here open with U.S. Constitution Day, Plumbing Repairs, Soup Varieties, Relationship Milestones, Arctic Mammals and 26 more.

The daily challenge is not the same puzzle shape as the numbered levels. A numbered level is a single board with exactly five words behind every category; a daily runs several stages in sequence, and its categories vary in size — on this board they run from 4 to 4 words, most commonly 4. Clear a stage and the next one opens, so work down this page in order rather than hunting for one word.

Watch for the 27 multi-word answers here — entries such as Frame Skipping span more than one word, and they are where most players stall. The daily board disappears from the game once the day ends, so this archive is the only way back to it. Step to September 16 or September 18, browse the full daily archive, or try the holiday event packs.

Pro tips

3 Tips for the September 17, 2026 Daily

01

Stages gate each other — solve top down

The daily runs 3 stages and the next one does not open until the current one is clear, so there is no point scanning ahead. Stage 1 alone holds 8 categories and 32 words. Work this page in the same order the game does and nothing is wasted.

02

Every category here holds 4 words

Unusually, all 31 categories on this board carry exactly 4 words, so a theme showing 4 is finished and you can stop digging there. Treat the count as a checklist.

03

Expect 27 multi-word entries

Around one daily answer in six is a phrase rather than a single word, and this board holds 27 of them — entries like Frame Skipping. If a category looks one short, the missing entry is usually two words you have been reading as one. The daily archive holds 607 boards and 87,401 answers in total.

How we check

Verified Answers, Not Guesses

How we verify the September 17, 2026 daily

The 124 words on this page are read straight from the captured board, stage by stage and category by category, not retyped. Stage numbering is preserved exactly as the game presents it, and a board is only published once all 3 stages parse cleanly — a partial capture is discarded rather than published with gaps.

How to play

How to Solve a Connect Word Board

Three habits that clear any Connect Word board, whichever mode you are in.

STEP 01

Read every category name first

The category names are the only clue the game gives you, and reading all of them before you touch a tile rules out most of the dictionary. A narrow theme pins its answers far harder than a broad one, which makes it the cheapest place to start.

STEP 02

Count the slots, do not count to five

Every category in the numbered levels holds exactly five words, so five means finished. The daily and event boards do not follow that rule — their categories hold four or five. Read the empty slots the board draws or you will abandon a theme one answer early.

STEP 03

Expect phrases, not just words

Roughly one Connect Word answer in six is two words rather than one. When a category sits one short, the gap is usually a phrase you have been reading as a single word.
