Crossword Master — Everything in One Place

This archive covers all 2,001 numbered Crossword Master puzzles, grouped into 21 blocks of a hundred, plus 61 daily puzzles. Between them they hold 37,185 solved clues drawn from 15,718 distinct clue texts. Every puzzle page lists each clue beside its answer and letter count.

Crossword Master is a compact crossword game for iOS and Android. Boards average 18.6 clues, ranging from 8 on puzzle 3 up to 22 on puzzle 59. Answers are unusually short — 3.5 letters on average, with plenty of one and two letter fills — so the letter count alone rarely tells you what a clue wants.

That matters because Crossword Master reuses its clue text heavily. Of the 15,718 distinct clues in the game, 2,496 have more than one valid answer depending on which board you are on. A clue you solved twenty puzzles ago may want something different now. Every puzzle page here flags reused clues, shows the answer for that specific board, and links to the other puzzles where the same clue appears — which is the part most answer sites get wrong.

The puzzles are indexed in 21 blocks of a hundred so you can reach any board in two clicks, and each block page lists the clue count for every puzzle inside it. Alongside the numbered levels there is a separate daily puzzle that ships in two regional variants, both catalogued here. Nothing on this site is behind a sign-up, and every clue is stored with its answer and letter count rather than hidden behind a reveal button.

How to play

How does Crossword Master work?

Three habits that make the short-answer format much easier.

01

Fill the crossings first

With answers averaging just 3.5 letters, a single crossing letter often pins a word outright. Work the intersections before you puzzle over any clue in isolation.

02

Check the puzzle number

Because clue text repeats with different answers, the same clue is not the same question on every board. Always match the answer to the puzzle you are on.

03

Treat one and two letter fills as anchors

Short fills like single letters are usually forced by their crossings. Placing them early cuts the options for every word running through them.

Tips for tricky boards

1

Do not trust your memory on a repeated clue. 2,496 clues in this game have more than one answer. Our puzzle pages mark them REUSED and show where else they appear.

2

Denser boards are not harder boards. Clue counts run from 8 to 22, but more clues usually means more crossings, and crossings are what break a grid open.

3

Use the block pages to scan ahead. Each block index shows the clue count for all hundred puzzles, so you can spot the heavy boards before you reach them.

4

The daily is a different game. Its US and GB variants carry different clues, so if an answer will not fit, check you are reading the right region on the daily page.

5

Stuck on one clue only? Open the puzzle page and read just that row — the table is ordered, so you can check a single clue without seeing the rest.

How we verify every answer

Every one of the 2,001 puzzles was scraped, parsed and validated before publishing, with the clue, answer and letter count kept together on every record. Because clue text repeats across boards, we also build a cross-reference of all 15,718 distinct clues, which is what lets each puzzle page warn you when a clue has a different answer elsewhere.

How to play

How to Solve a Crossword Master Puzzle

The order that clears a crossword fastest, whatever the theme.

STEP 01

Start with the fills you are certain of

Short answers with common letter patterns anchor the grid. Every letter one of them places is a free constraint on the crossing clues, which is why the grid opens up far faster from the easy corners than from the clue you are stuck on.

STEP 02

Use the crossings, not the clue

When a clue will not give, stop reading it and look at what crosses it. Two or three confirmed letters usually reduce the answer to one candidate, and that is quicker than re-reading a clue you have already failed to solve.

STEP 03

Let the theme carry the long answers

The long entries usually share a theme, so once one of them falls the others follow the same pattern. Solve a long answer and re-read the other long clues immediately — they are rarely independent.
