Word Chain Answers
569 levels holding 3,842 chain words and 3,764 definitions. Each level is a run where every neighbouring pair makes a compound: ICE → CREAM → CHEESE.
A Chain Is an Order, Not a List
Level 1 is the shortest in the game and shows the whole idea: ICE CREAM, then CREAM CHEESE. Open level 1 to see the links written out.
All 569 Levels
Fifty at a time, each block listing its chains in full so you can find the one you are on by reading rather than clicking.
How Long the Chains Get
Most levels are seven or eight words. The short ones are the opening tutorial levels — see levels 1–50.
Words the Game Leans On
These turn up again and again because they compound in both directions. Recognising them is the single fastest way to shorten a chain.

Three Habits That Break a Chain Open
Work inwards from both ends
The first and last words have one neighbour each, so they carry the least ambiguity. Every level page lists the pairs so you can see which end is safer.
Learn the joints
A handful of words do most of the work: OUT, UP, TIME, BACK, WORK. They compound in both directions, which is why the game reuses them.
Read the second meaning
Chains lean on secondary senses far more than the obvious one, so a link can look wrong until you check what the word actually means. Every level page here carries a definition for each word — 3,764 of them in all.
How to Solve a Word Chain Level
Ends first, then work inwards.
Read it as a sequence
Each answer must join the one before it, so the order is the puzzle. Start at level 1 to see it plainly.
Anchor at both ends
Outer words have a single neighbour and are the least ambiguous place to begin.
Try the pair both ways
Compounds work in one direction only — BLACK JACK, not JACK BLACK. Reverse before discarding.
Verified Answers, Not Guesses
How we verify every chain for all 569 levels, with the links explained and a definition for each word
Chains are taken from the published answers and cross-checked against a second source, which agreed on all 520 levels it covers, with no numbering drift. The game ends at level 569: answer sites return HTTP 200 for any higher number and serve one repeated puzzle, so those are deliberately not published here. The routine is in our methodology and the standards in our editorial policy.
